Kittens!

Who doesn't like cute little kitties? I mean, just look at em! They're a bundle of love all wrapped up in nice little fuzzy package of joy!

My buddy over at Senses Lumines keeps a few cats at their place, and they recently had a litter of kittens! Since, they already get a lot of love from their existing cats, they are willing to share their new kittens with anyone willing to take care of one!

A pet will always be a rewarding experience, one that is bound to give back more than you put in. So if you're interested in getting a little love and giving some in return just drop either of us a msg, we will see if we can arrange a little kitty transfer!

Peace O_o

BTW, valid for those in Manila only... hehe (kittens don't enjoy boats or planes)

Hard Core!

Hard Core! (got this off the net... @_@)

We were able to get a copy of Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core for the PSP, and what can I say, It's one REEEAaaaaalllyyy sweet game!

Story wise, the game takes place before the events of the original FF VII. Unfortunately I had a "bad" copy of said game (events of disc one were on disc three, and about 2 hours into the game the weapons started waking up!) so I will not go into detail of how well related this one is to the original FF VII.

So far the story revolves around Zack Fair with good doses of cameos from some of the FF VII cast. The story is a little compressed compared to the standard world affecting epics of usual Final Fantasy Fare, this really is just the background story of Zack folks. Locations are limited, and the storyline practically runs on rails.

Don't get me wrong however, what is there is good, and sheds light on some issues of the original game, but you can't help but feel the "oh no it's almost over what do I do now?" kind of feeling as you play it.

The graphics are top notch for something on a small screen, you forget that it's not a PS2 you're playing on because it is such an immersing experience. In fact, the summon animations are down right wicked. Whenever you are lucky enough to get a summon, you will be treated to a FULL CG summon animation that runs seamlessly with the game battle animation.

Game play wise, it plays a little like Kingdom Hearts. Little menu interaction, one button combos to pull off attacks. How is this so you ask? It's all thanks to the DMW! "The digital mind wave" interface takes the thinking process out of the equation as it does all the summoning and limit breaks for you. That aside, it is also responsible for other beneficial side effects such as buffs and will be your only means of leveling up! No more power leveling here, in order to level up, the slots must read 777. Yes there is an element of chance and while others may abhor it, some will just accept it as another unique play mechanic.

All in all, Crisis Core is a very very playable game, in fact I would go on to say that it's one of the most "must" games for PSP owners anf FF fans alike, you get exemplary gameplay, a lot of fanservice from cameos, and ultimately another slice of FF VII to add to the table, albeit presented in a rather small bite sized nugget.

Gundam Holy Weekend!

Well, Holy Week just zipped by and, my buddy and I got a little time to do a little Gundam building. Unfortunately because it is costly and time consuming to paint the kits, lately we've been just snap building and panel lining our kits, to have them painted later on when we have more time and funding, lolx (hey, paints don't grow on trees!).

This time around we built MG Destiny, and well, he was standard fare for an MG kit with a few exceptions. I will list the few impressions we made on this kit, my buddy over at Senses Lumines will cover the details and nuances of construction fully when time permits.

First off, he has improved shoulder rotation, well, I should rather say that it is no worse than what the MG Strike Noir displays, but still the slightly elaborate reconstruction of the shoulders make it interesting.

Next he sports an "improved" (read annoying) waist unit. Now, the legs can be separated even further via a switch that increases the angel at which the legs will default. This gives him effectively a wider stance as if he had rashes. We are frankly annoyed and wished he sported sturdier leg assemblies. The "improvement" makes his stance unstable and every time we shift his position to move his pose, his legs will click loose...

We plan on rectifying the situation soon, perhaps with a healthy dose of super glue.

The completed, yet unpainted kit.

Here ready for storage, we placed him together with Strike Freedom as they are rivals.

Will keep you posted on the status of our uncompleted Destiny...

Beat The Summer Heat!

I woke up this morning to the sound of my mom calling out for everyone to change. Apparently she wanted to go swimming during the morning while the sun is relatively cancer free (well we hope so). Unfortunately by the time the entire family was able to mobilize, it was already 10AM! Not particularly sun free, but facing the humid summer morning we thought that a quick dip didn't sound too bad.

Swimming is one way to cool off during the summer months...

So off we sped to the nearest pool accessible to us, which was a pool at the currently developing Tribeca condos.

The Aqua Park...

The Poolside...

A Bed On The Poolside, you can lounge around, just don't bring a book or electronics for that matter.

Submerged Pool Chairs.

Unfortunately, we found the area a little too steamy... It was just too hot and sunny to swim without risking serious dermal injury. So we (the young people consisting of my sister, cousin, and yours truly) decided to head back ahead of everyone.

So scratch that idea, when we got back, we decided that we would all just stay in one room and play uno stacko until we started puking multi colored blocks, nothing like a wholesome game while whittling away the summer hours.

However, whenever we do play, we end up laughing so much that it gets a little too rowdy. It's a family thing... Suffice to say whenever we are together, we end up with side stitches from all the laughter that ensues shortly thereafter.

Laughter, another way to pass the summer!

That afternoon was particularly hot! I mean it was absolutely sweltering!

So my mom decided to make mais con yelo. Always a good summer treat, so my dad and I drove down to the market to get one giant slab of ice, a few necessary ingredients as well as ice cream. Then when we got home, mom started making the cool desserts, but I decided to make a few adjustments.

Here was what we came up with...

Ice cool desserts are always one good way to beat the summer heat!

How do you cool off during the summer months?

Summers' Here Again!

Well, its summer again!

I just love summer! What can I say? Its the smell of the sun baking the living daylights out of everyone, its the smell of the sand, the long vacations, the outings, the halo-halo's, the cool summer nights... The list goes on and on!

It always brings me a sense of joy and calm whenever summer comes around, Back in the day, I remember feeling relaxed and calm during the summer months. When I was a student, it was the small reprieve after a school years' worth of studying. Now that I'm older, the reprieve still exists but only in existential form. A "period of relaxation just because I know its summer" kind of thing, even when I no longer have seemingly unending holidays.

I plan on making the most out of my summer, by creating memories and having the time of my life! I mean, how often do we get to enjoy summer...

Well, here's hoping all of you have a very happy and sunny summer!
